Why Philippines?

This is the first post on my new blog. I’m just getting this new blog going, so stay tuned for more. Subscribe below to get notified when I post new updates.

Have you ever seen the beauty of the Philippines? Oh surely! Once you’ve seen it, it feels like home. As a Filipina youth, I would like to showcase and share to everyone out of our boarder lines, the beauty of our islands. The white sand of each beaches, the fresh-air filled mountains and hills, mysterious caves, etc. Philippines seems to be so small archipelago, but it has many wonders inside. Are you ready to wander what’s in it?

It’s more fun in the Philippines! Indeed.

The Philippines is the country to visit now. The Philippines is the country to visit now. Flights are frequent to the major cites of the Philippines an after a restful night of sleep, a modern paradise awaits in this multi-island nation. The sunrise and sunset are at roughly the same time year round, and the weather nearly as predictable in its perfection. The Philippines is a unique and beautiful country where kindness and respect towards others is part of the culture, and all are willing to help you to have a wonderful experience in their country. The nation has endless natural beauty, yet also the skills and modern infrastructure to make it home to many of the word’s largest companies. Stress is not as palpable in this country as in others, but rather it feels that there is balance among most. Work, family, and religion, are all present in the everyday and all three play an important part in achieving the sense of peace you feel here. The Filipino people are fast and intelligent and live well structured lives while at the same time preserving a calm and relaxing environment, making this nation a joy to visit. Who am I?

Hi! If you are here it’s because you want to know a bit more about me, so I better introduce myself! I’m Jar-el! born on the beautiful place, the Philippines!

When I was young, I am truly amazed and excited whenever I see an airplane flying up there with the white fluffy clouds, a ship sailing on the very clear, blue sea, and even jeepneys and buses around the noisy streets of Manila. With that, I’ve always promised myself that someday, I’ll be able to ride those.

Surprisingly, with the age of 16, yes I am still sweet as 16! I was able to ride my dreams already. I’ve saw the beautiful lands right below me the moment I flew up, I was able to feel the cold and relaxing breeze along the sea and waits to meet the horizon, and also what I loved the most, I was able to ride jeepneys, buses or any public transportations ALONE! I am proud of it, I think I am already independent.

Today, I’ve witnessed the different situations that is currently happening in my country, my every day travel to school has shown me some of the poorest areas of my beloved Philippines; the slums and the congested areas. Sadly, people from other countries see this only. They seems to see only the shadows of our country’s masterpieces. It saddens me that, they see it ugly, they see it messy, but I found the people’s smiles which I think is one of the best views I’ve ever seen. That makes the Philippines unique.

As a Humanities and Social Sciences Student, I’ve always want to do something for my country. With my low age, I wanted to somehow promote my country’s beauty in some little ways. And I see that blogging could be a good platform to promote not only the tourism of my nation, but also, the hidden treasures that only some know.

I hope you will enjoy your moment here! Welcome to the Philippines!

Introduce Yourself (Example Post)

This is an example post, originally published as part of Blogging University. Enroll in one of our ten programs, and start your blog right.

You’re going to publish a post today. Don’t worry about how your blog looks. Don’t worry if you haven’t given it a name yet, or you’re feeling overwhelmed. Just click the “New Post” button, and tell us why you’re here.

Why do this?

  • Because it gives new readers context. What are you about? Why should they read your blog?
  • Because it will help you focus you own ideas about your blog and what you’d like to do with it.

The post can be short or long, a personal intro to your life or a bloggy mission statement, a manifesto for the future or a simple outline of your the types of things you hope to publish.

To help you get started, here are a few questions:

  • Why are you blogging publicly, rather than keeping a personal journal?
  • What topics do you think you’ll write about?
  • Who would you love to connect with via your blog?
  • If you blog successfully throughout the next year, what would you hope to have accomplished?

You’re not locked into any of this; one of the wonderful things about blogs is how they constantly evolve as we learn, grow, and interact with one another — but it’s good to know where and why you started, and articulating your goals may just give you a few other post ideas.

Can’t think how to get started? Just write the first thing that pops into your head. Anne Lamott, author of a book on writing we love, says that you need to give yourself permission to write a “crappy first draft”. Anne makes a great point — just start writing, and worry about editing it later.

When you’re ready to publish, give your post three to five tags that describe your blog’s focus — writing, photography, fiction, parenting, food, cars, movies, sports, whatever. These tags will help others who care about your topics find you in the Reader. Make sure one of the tags is “zerotohero,” so other new bloggers can find you, too.
